The culinary offerings at La Pesa Bar celebrate the rich gastronomy of Asturias, with a menu that, while modest in size, boasts dishes crafted with genuine passion and local ingredients. The crispy crab cake pâté and fresh, delicately prepared leeks provide flavorful starters that awaken the senses and hint at what’s to come. For those seeking a comforting classic, the escalopines al cabrales offer a rich, creamy experience balanced perfectly with the distinctive sharpness of the famous Cabrales cheese, while the croquetas de jamón and squid ink croquettes deliver a crunchy, savory indulgence that guests rave about.
One cannot mention La Pesa Bar without highlighting the warmth of its service. The staff here exude genuine friendliness and attentiveness, making every visitor feel like a welcomed guest rather than just a diner. From quick, efficient service to thoughtful touches—such as serving traditional cider and offering cold water bottles to unexpected tourists—the team’s kindness truly enriches the dining experience. Even when the menu offers fewer options, each dish is prepared with care and leaves an indelible mark of satisfaction.
The restaurant’s atmosphere plays a pivotal role in making a meal memorable. Whether seated outside in the picturesque garden surrounded by Asturian greenery or inside soaking up the village’s quaint charm, the ambiance is relaxed yet lively, offering the perfect backdrop for both romantic dinners and casual family lunches. The occasional artistic touch, like encountering the owner painting, adds to the authentic, heartfelt character of the venue.
For dessert lovers, the cheesecake is a sweet finale that pairs beautifully with the savory notes leading up to it, providing a satisfying balance. While some dishes, like the goat cheese salad, may have nuances that evoke personal preference, the overwhelming consensus points towards a consistently delightful culinary journey.
Whether you are exploring the area by bike, settling in for a family vacation, or simply craving an honest taste of Asturian hospitality, La Pesa Bar stands out as a sincere, passionate homage to local flavors and community spirit. We stayed at this village for two weeks and very soon we became regulars at this bar/restaurant. The menu is somewhat limited, but everything i tried, i would happily order again (and i think in our many visits we only missed a couple of dishes). I would especially recommend the escalopines al cabrales and the croquetas de jamon. The service is very friendly (like everyone in the village) and efficient. All in all, the atmosphere is great, it really gives one the so longed-for holiday feeling. They even had live music in the weekends, which made us enjoy a lot. And the prices are quite decent: our dinners averaged 10-15 euro per head.

We stumbled across this place while exploring by bikes. I asked the owner who was painting if it was open. He said no but he made us coffees and gave us cold water bottles when I tried to tip. Absolute gentleman. Very kind. Thank you

We spent the week in la Pesa de Pria as a family and I was so sad that only 1 bar existed in the village… this was until I discovered the Pesa Bar in person. From the beautiful space, to the people in the staff, to the food and the amazing times. This Bar/restaurant made my vacation in the region feel like home. We only came as a couple the first time and they teached us how to serve cidra properly. The gambon and escapolines made us reserve for the entire family of 9 the same week.( twice in fact!) To our joy the bar also books locals artist for shows during dinner on weekends. The show was great and we had so much amazing food. (I am speaking quantity and quality). The Cachopo, the croquetas and the pimienton de padron. The list would go on! We ultimately came to the bar over 5 times during our 2 weeks and I would go back to stay at this same village only to be able to enjoy the wonderful food and service at La Pesa Bar.

Lovely garden, good food and service. However the goat cheese salad looked great but was véry salty, not enjoyable. The rest of the food was great and very tasty! One caballero was particularly unfriendly, the rest served with smiles and friendliness.

We had a fabulous meal this evening after touring around France and Spain. The staff were amazingly helpful and it was a delight to experience our last night in this village restaurant.
